ESTELLA - The Star

 The MGOCSM unit inauguration and Christmas celebration of the college ESTELLA -the star was conducted on 22 December 2022. There were several programs like christmas carol song, dance , tableau by first and second year students. The MGOCSM unit was inaugurated by Adv. Biju Oommen, Association Secretary, MOSC.

In the last day of CLP, we went to watch a Avatar 2 with our teachers. It was my first experience of watching a 3D film and enjoyed the visual experience thoroughly. After the lunch, we assembled in the seminar hall for the valedictory function and reflection. We shared our experience and expressed our gratitude for the cooperation and participation of all for the success of the camp.

Community Living Camp - Day 4

In the fourth day of the camp, we scheduled a trip to Thenmala. We reached the college by 7:30 am and started our journey to Thenmala with our teachers. We explored the beauty of the ecopark with great interest. We went to adventure park, leisure zone, forest garden , suspension bridges. It was a complete package to enjoy the serene beauty of the nature. It was a beautiful experience and we enjoyed it thoroughly. After the lunch, we went to deer park and saw different species of deer.  The trip was quite informative and entertaining.

The third day of CLP started with an energetic zumba session. Our Principal Dr. Rosamma Philp and Rev. Fr. K. A . Mathews visited the camp and gave valuable suggestions for the success of the camp. The first session was conducted by Rev. Fr. Jose Varghese and talked about the psychological aspects of resilence. He gave us necessary tips to be resilient in real life. He informed us about the various steps of mental adjustment during a stress. It was a really helpful session. After the class, we had a break for 5 minutes and the next session was handled by Suresh sir. His session was really nice and he talked about many topics. Most of them were of great importance in the current scenario. It was an interactive session with us. After the lunch break, there was an enactment show ' Kaleiodoscope'. I got an oppurtunity to enact the famous women reformer Mariyumma. The enactment show was a milestone in the community living camp. Then there was outdoor games which helped us to enhance our team spirit among the members in each group. The campfire was a nice experience for all of us.

The community living camp day 2 started at 9 am. We reported at the residential centre St. Xaviers Vidya Niketan, Salempuram by 9 am and after the registration, we were allotted to the rooms. We arranged the room within 10 minutes and assembled in the general hall. We started the day officially with the assembly. The assembly was conducted by group 1 and 2. A short message was given by Sr. Sylvia, St. Xavier's Vidyanikethan and also gave rules and regualations thath is to be followed in the centre. The first session was handled by Ms. Jomy Linu, Assistant Professor, Mount Zion Medical College. She talk about various topics such as resilience, friendship, family etc  and there were many interesting activities.We all actively participated in the games. After the session we had our lunch and took a short break. We went for community survey and collect details regarding the health, life after corona, educational aspects etc. We got an opportunity to get informed about the role corona played in the life of common people. It gave us many new experiences. After the survey we returned the camp by 4 .30 pm. The outdoor games was conducted by maths optional students with the guidance of Dr. George Varghese, Assistant Professor, MTTC from 5 pm onwards. It gave us an opportunity to nourish our childhood memories back. After a short break, we assembled in the general hall for prayer and the we had our food. The survey experiences were shared by the group members and was followed by different games, and vibrant dances

The first day of Community Living Camp was started with the inaugural session. The programme was inaugurated by Sri. S. Thulasi, Pathanapuram Panchayat President. The theme of the programme 'Ujjivan 2022' and subtheme for each day was explained by the student Coordinator Ms. Greeshma Murukan. After the inaugural session, we gathered in the seminar hall for discussion. I belong to Group 4 'Fireflies'  and we selected Feba as the group leader. We discussed the various ways to present the sub-themes of each day.

OATH TAKING CEREMONY

The oath taking ceremony of the new College union took place on 7 December 2022 at the college general hall. As a new initiative the college union started meal program and planted new saplings at the college.
